The Southern New Hampshire
Planning Commission serves as the coordinating agency for the planning
initiatives of thirteen communities in it's region: Auburn, Bedford, Candia,
Chester, Deerfield, Derry, Goffstown, Hooksett, Londonderry, Manchester, New
Boston, Raymond, and Weare.
The Commission provides its many services to the region under four broad
categories: Regional Transportation Planning, Regional Land Use and
Environmental Planning, Local Planning Assistance, and Regional Planning Data.
The Planning Commission also serves as the Metropolitan Planning Organization
(MPO) for the region. As an MPO, it provides a forum for state and local
officials to discuss transportation issues and develop an overall transportation
plan for the region.
The site contains more detailed information about our Commission, a profile of
our member communities with statistics, planning related data, e.g. Annual
Average Daily Traffic (AADT), census data, reports, etc. The Planning Commission
has installed a couple of Traveler Information kiosks across the region that
provides information for commuters and travelers in the southern New Hampshire
region.
